Windchill Films, an affiliate of Snowfall Films, today announced it has signed Grindstone Entertainment Group for domestic distribution of its award-winning horror/thriller feature film, Seance.
Grindstone was launched earlier this year by Mandate Pictures, the highly regarded film finance, international sales and production company which itself was acquired last month by Lionsgate.
Seance has received numerous awards and industry recognition, including Winner Best Picture Shockerfest International Film Festival; Winner Best Dramatic Feature Eureka Springs Digital Film Festival; Official Selection Best Screenplay and Best Visual Effects Indy Horror Film Festival, and; Official Selection Horror Fest U.K. The film’s synopsis and trailer are available at: https://www.windchillfilms.com.

A favorite with film fest audiences, Seance is billed as “Five kids trapped in a dorm, one deadly killer. You do the math.” First time director Mark L. Smith wrote Seance; he also wrote Vacancy, a Screengems feature film that debuted in theaters this past spring.
Smith describes the film’s unique award-winning persona, “What if those shapes you glimpse in a dark room… the ones that disappear as soon as you turn on the light… what if those shapes are still there, but you just can’t see them with the light on?”
“That was the driving concept behind Seance,” Smith explains. “To take that natural fear of darkness and turn it upside down, so that darkness is necessary to see the things you fear. Then you take that dark empty room… actually twenty floors of dark empty rooms, and you add a young woman with a past that haunts her even in the daylight. Then you surround that young woman with a few friends dealing with their own issues, and just for fun, you drop the ghost of a murdered little girl into the mix… along with the ghost of her killer. And then you give them all one single night to sort things out.”
Seance stars Adrian Paul star of the Highlander television series and the upcoming Highlander: The Source, as well as Anthony Waller’s Nine Miles Down. Seance also stars AJ Lamas son of Lorenzo Lamas, Chauntal Lewis who plays Lindsay in the short Lindsay Fully Loaded which received an amazing 750,000 hits, Kandis Erickson Her Morbid Desires, Joel Geist Windfall and Tori White Careless.
