Virtually every major horror celebrity has appeared before their fans and the gatherings are well known as a breeding ground for up and coming horror directors, producers and special effects artists. The 2009 tour promises to build on the success of years past by adding even more gruesome guests, vicious vendors, and eerie exhibitors.

Adam Malin, Co-CEO of Creation Entertainment, the company that co-produces the Fangoria events, said, “We are very excited to be unveiling our 2009 line-up of events. We are rolling out the bloody red carpet for fellow gore fans and with our moves to the Los Angeles Convention Center in LA and the Javits Center in Manhattan, we have all the room we need to ensure that everyone gets in, dead or alive!”

Horror celebrities already signed on to appear are: Tobin Bell (LA), Jigsaw from the SAW franchise, will be making his debut appearance; George Romero (CHI), legendary writer/director of numerous horror classics such as NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and CREEPSHOW; Clive Barker (LA), award-winning writer/ director/artist, creator of HELLRAISER, and MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN; Tobe Hooper (CHI, LA, and NYC), award-winning director/producer/ writer, including TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and POLTERGEIST; and Doug Bradley (CHI, LA, and NYC), HELLRAISER’S Pinhead. Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors is dedicated to adding more terrifying talent daily, remaining on the cutting edge of all things Horror.

Besides the ever-growing list of gruesome guests, the events will include a number of competitions such as The Annual Spooksmodel Contest, Creepy Costume Contest, and The Terrifying Tattoo Savage Contest, offering thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. This year, Weekend of Horrors is unveiling a wide array of Sinister Seminars instructed by some of horror’s elite professionals. Seminars include, but are not limited to: Herschell Gordon Lewis’ “Budget Filmmaking Workshop”, Tobe Hooper’s “Filmmaking 101”, Clive Barker’s “Writing Horror”, and Lloyd Kaufman’s “Direct Your Own Damn Movie!”.

Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors intends to make history this year by taking a stab at breaking the world record for Zombie Walkers, in a menacing march around the LA Convention Center. All living dead are welcome to partake in this post-mortem parade, as well as contribute to our charitable blood and food drives.
