Hallows Eve

Days before the annual opening of Slaughter on Second Street a tragedy befalls one of their own.  Despite pleas from the manager, Buck Masters (Todd Reynolds), the attraction is shut down until the mystery is solved.  In his frustration, Buck devises a plan to make some extra money by playing on rumors that the attraction may in fact be haunted and brings in P.S.I. a rag-tag group of paranormal researchers to prove the rumors true.  The arrival is met with the feeling that something isn’t right, but it’s just another job… or so they think!

An unfriendly encounter with the building’s creepy caretaker, Mr. Jenkins (Robert Zambrano), makes the team realize that the history of the building may be darker and deadlier than they could have ever imagined and they may actually be spending the night in one of Owensboro’s most haunted sites.  It isn’t long before the investigation is underway that it comes to a stand still from three stowaway volunteers that have snuck into the building to do a little snooping of their own.  As the night progress’, the volunteers begin falling victim to fatal accidents that may or may not be supernatural.  What was supposed to be a typical investigation quickly turns into a night of bloodshed.  One by one, the group is preyed upon by malicious forces and must rely on each other if they are to make it out alive.  Who will survive and who will die trying?

This marks the first film venture for Verite Cinema, created by Producer Rodney Newton and Writer/Director P.J. Starks.  Pre-Production began in November 2007 where an army of likeminded and talented volunteers were amassed.  Principle photography began on July 3rd, 2008 and ended in late August followed by a packed premiere on October 31st, 2008.  The premiere was a benefit where the filmmakers donated 100% of the proceeds to a non-profit organization.

Currently the film is being entered into film festivals and has been submitted to nearly two dozen media sources for review including Rue Morgue Magazine and GoreZone Magazine.  The filmmakers are also prepping Hallows Eve for a dvd release coming October 2009.
