There is no one more awesome in Hollywood, right now, than Dylan Vox. With a regular role on the beyond fun The Lair, Vox has also recently appeared in the special features for the brand new edition of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter and just completed filmed the glorious sounding MegaConda with the even more glorious Stella Stevens. Also answering to name of Lucifer in the upcoming The Cypherian, Vox recently took some  time out from roasting poor souls on a fiery pit, to answer some juicy, cracklin’ questions for Horror Society, ultimately proving that little Damian is not the only one worthy of having a nanny commit suicide for him.

Brian: Who were your first performing influences – Jack Nicholson making a snack of Wendy in The Shining – Don Knotts trying to find out who was worthier, The Ghost or Mr. Chicken – A drunken aunt with a saxophone fetish?

Dylan: Well, while those are friggen AWESOME choices, I have to say that the first time I really decided that I wanted to be a performer was watching Morgan Freeman on the Electric Company reruns. He scared the crap out of me, and I always hoped to be able to do the same thing someday lol.

Brian: Awesome! If you had to get Dirty Dancing or cope with a Saturday Night Fever, which one would you choose?

Dylan: Are you kidding me bro? Dirty Dancing all the way! I mean nobody puts Baby in a corner. Plus John Travolta is still a douche bag even after Pulp Fiction.

Brian: Thankfully Scab was a movie you were in and not something that covers your body. Can you tell us about your experience making that film?

Dylan: Scab was great. I was asked to come down for a day or two of shooting and was only told it was a Vampire Story. For me, horror is crazy fun and wildly entertaining and one of my favorite things to shoot, so I of course jumped at the chance. Who doesn’t want to get bit by a Vampire at some point in their lives?

Brian: Well…me. So – Did you ‘bare down’ and come up with a complete back story for your very mysterious character in Dantes Cove? You definitely have a wickedly strong presence and a gravitational pull in that show.

Dylan: LOL well of course the wardrobe budget for my character was limited to say the least, but yeah I had a great time playing an evil drug dealer on the show. Working with Jon was awesome, and I also met Fred Olen Ray and Kim Ray who are absolutely amazing and ended up casting me on the Lair so it was a great experience all around. People tell me all the time I have a dark and sexy presence which I don’t  necessarily see, but I have been glad to play the bad guy on screen because lets face it…being bad is so much more fun.

Brian: That’s what I keep on trying to tell my mother! – As the Joan Collins of The Lair, what is the nastiest thing your character has done to someone else?

513MCCrw-zL__SL500_AA240_Dylan: Well let’s see. I walled my boss (Peter Stickles) in alive; I let my janitor (Brian Nolan) get shot and then take the blame for shooting the sheriff (Colton Ford); I made Laura (Beverly Lynn) stab her boy friend and then killed her; I slept with Tom’s boyfriend (Ethan Reynolds). I’ve killed about 9 people on the show so far and I tend to make shitty drinks at the bar, so I guess you could say I’m not exactly a warm a fuzzy character. I don’t think even Alexis Colby could top that. I, however, think that Colin is probably just misunderstood.

Brian: Completely! So, vampires, man-killing plants, werewolves and now Sybil Danning! – What creature would you like to add next to the mix in The Lair?

Dylan: Having Sybil Danning join the cast is such an amazing treat for me and for the audience. She is a legend of this genre’ and her presence was such a welcomed addition. Plus she’s a hot badass bitch, which is just what we needed on the show. I know there are some new surprises for season 3, and I hope they continue adding new story lines reminiscent of Dark Shadows. Fred Ray has a great mind for campy horror and always comes up with new twists and turns that I think the audiences really gets a kick out of. The show is like a big inside joke and the fans are the ones that truly get it and have a great time being entertained. For the people that don’t appreciate it or don’t get it I feel like they are missing out on something really unique and fun.

Brian: Totally! – Before all your limbs fall off can you tell us something about appearing in Zombo?

Dylan: I have done several musicals and have even won a few theatre critics awards, but I had never done anything on film. When they told me it was a musical about Zombies, I KNEW I had to be part of it. The music is great and the story is really funny. Alberto Belli who directed the film had such an interesting vision and I was really proud of how it turned out.

Brian: Sounds awesome! Dylan, since the (the original) Omen still makes me wet, the fact that you played Lucifer in The Cypherian totally makes you my hero (well, at least for the day)! Can you tell us all about that project?

lair_episode10Dylan: The Cypherian was written and directed by a great new filmmaker named D.K. Johnston. Again, it was a truly great experience and a great crew that cared a lot about the project. Getting to play the Devil is something that I figured would eventually happen anyway so I figured why not take the opportunity now lol!

Brian: Well, I guess, it’s best to be prepared for the inevitable! – So, tell us about your set experience doing the behind the scene footage for the special edition of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. (Now you are officially hero for a day for everyone who logs onto the site!)

Dylan: Dude, what a highlight this opportunity was for me to be part of something that I had loved when I was little. The brilliant Dan Farrands who is responsible for all of the bonus scene footage on the re-release of the Friday the 13th series had heard that The Final Chapter was the first horror movie I had ever seen and was something that I absolutely was obsessed with as a kid. He graciously asked me if I wanted to be part of the project and of course I said HELL YES! Like working with Sybil, this was part of my childhood and now 20 years later I was part of it. The amount of extra footage is unbelievable and any fan of the series will be so delighted by the extraordinary work that Dan has done. It was an unbelievably experience.51akVkTF5AL__SL500_AA240_

Brian: That’s awesome, man! So many people are incredibly jealous of you, right now. – Lastly, any words of advice (IE: Don’t play ‘Yo Momma!’ with a man eating rose bush) or future projects that you’d like to tell us about? And thanks – This has been better than a vanity sock and a cocktail any day of the week!

Dylan: I have two movies that have just come out and are making the festival rounds that you should definitely check out. Homewrecker, which stars Rebekah Kochan and me, is a great, campy, screwball comedy that has gotten exceptional reviews and is really very funny. I have gone to a few screenings, and I can’t tell you how awesome it has been to have people appreciate and be so accepting of my work. I think this film really showcases some of the things I am capable of, and I am so lucky that the creator Bruce Hart allowed me to do so much. – Also, the psychological thriller Pornography: A Thriller has been garnering HUGE praise. The director Dave Kittredge brought a great vision to life and told a truly spooky and intense story that audiences seem to love. – check Triplefire.com for the trailer. If you like horror you will definitely dig this film. – And for Sci-Fi fans, I just finished a film called MegaConda, which stars the legendary Stella Stevens and is directed by Chris Ray who was a blast to work with and also a huge talent. That should be coming out later this fall. – I have a few movies that I will begin working on this fall and currently I am doing a play here in Hollywood called Psychobabble, which has been phenomenal.

Its awesome being able to talk to you guys and I appreciate all of the wonderful comments. Thanks so much Brian and thank you all for watching!
