Abducted Girl, an American sex slave

It has just been announced that “Abducted Girl, an American sex slave” will begin filming next month and is scheduled to be released as early as Spring 2010.

The film is loosely based on the Jaycee Lee Dugard kidnapping by Phillip and Nancy Garrido. Dugard was held in captivity for 18 years, from 1991 until 2009. Filmmaker Shane Ryan says the film will focus more on the relationship between the victim and the predator than any thing else, his 5th film in a row to use this technique but he says this story is easily the most challenging one yet.

Dugard never tried to escape, even during the months that Phillip Garrido was back in prison due to another crime, leaving his wife Nancy in charge of Jaycee. The Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in abducted hostages, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger or risk in which they have been placed. Dugard’s story is probably the best example of the Stockholm Syndrome in which case the individual came out alive.
