Jack’s Bad Day – A Film By Shawn Ewert – Story by Josh Law

On March 1, 2010, film director, writer, and producer Shawn Ewert will be releasing his debut short film entitled JACK’S BAD DAY to film festivals around the U.S.

JACK’S BAD DAY is a dark comedy about an obsessive compulsive serial killer who seems to have Murphy’s Law testing him at every turn. From the onset of the film, Jack’s day goes from bad to worse as there is no hot water for his shower and his towel rack breaks off the wall while he is getting through his morning routine.

As Jack prepares for his day of stalking and killing, situation after situation arises where things simply go awry at the last possible moments. His victims always seem to find some way to keep him from enjoying his perverse skill, but not in the way you would think. Through the director’s hand, you feel the frustration and futility of this downtrodden serial killer as attempt after attempt to dispatch his prey fizzles out.

The film took a total of about four months of shooting over weekends to complete and represents Shawn Ewert’s first attempt at making a film.  On-stage improv comedian Steven Good plays the lead role of Jack, the serial killer. This is his first role in a film and he does a fine job of conveying the part of the frustrated killer. Indie horror film actor Jayson Champion (KODIE) also has a starring role in the film and will be working on another project with writer, director, and producer Shawn Ewert entitled “THE SLEEP OVER” in the near future.
