If you’re a fan of all things sci-fi & comics, then you’re already aware of Wizard Worlds incredible conventions, but if you’re also a fan of the scary, creepy, and horrific, The NYC Horror Film Festival & FEARSmag Horror Pavilion is going to blow your mind!  The pavilion is a dedicated area at all the 2010 North America Wizard conventions where fans, genre professionals, and vendors can meet, greet and support their love of all things horror. From the classic Universal monsters to Freddy, Leatherface and Michael Myers, from the best new independent horror and Sci-fi films, to the latest big budget fright flicks being offered by the studios, this is the place for you. And it’s not just about the movies.. The pavilion also encompasses horror themed comics, video games, music, novels, and so much more!

The Horror Pavilion
Wizard World, the leader in providing interactive pop-culture events for an estimated 200,000 professionals and fans, along with the team of Joseph B. Mauceri, the executive editor of FEARSmag.com and programming director for the NYC Horror Film Festival, and Michael J Hein, Filmmaker and Director of the NYC Horror Film Festival, are uniting to create a Horror Pavilion for the 2010 Wizard World Conventions. Beginning with the Wizard World Anaheim Comic Con (April 16 – 18, 2010, at the Anaheim Convention Center) each convention will feature a specific area dedicated to the best writers, artists, musicians, and celebrities the horror & sci-fi fans carve.

The Killer Shorts Sudden Death Film Competition
The Killer Shorts Sudden Death Film Competition is the ultimate short horror and sci-fi short film series where the audience picks the winners. In five major cities, the competition offers short filmmakers an opportunity to have their short films screened and voted on by hundreds of fans, and a chance to win a coveted screening slot at the 2010 New York City Horror Film Festival.  Thru THE KILLER SHORTS SUDDEN DEATH FILM COMPETITION, Wizard World audiences will have the unique opportunity to select one winner at each of the five Wizard Conventions – Anaheim, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston – one winner from each show will become part of the 2010 NYC Horror Film Festival program. Of the overall five winning films, Wizard will present a special award to all five films during the Wizard World Austin, November 12 – 14, 2010, at the Austin Convention Center.

   
Submissions will be accepted on the following schedule:

Wizard Anaheim Comic Con. April 16-18, 2010:
Via the mail beginning February 15, 2010 and post marked no later than April 5, 2010
On site beginning April 16, 2010, until 2:00 pm Saturday, April 17, 2010.

Wizard Philadelphia Comic Con. June 11-13, 2010:
Via the mail beginning April 9, 2010 and post marked no later than May 28, 2010
On site beginning June 11, 2010, until 2:00 pm Saturday, June 12, 2010.

Wizard Chicago Comic Con Aug. 19-22, 2010:
Via the mail beginning June 14, 2010, and post marked no later than Aug. 2, 2010
On site beginning Aug. 19, 2010, until 2:00 pm Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010.

New England Wizard World Oct. 1-3, 2010:
Via the mail beginning Aug. 30, 2010, and post marked no later than Sept. 24, 2010
On site beginning Oct. 1, 2010, until 2:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010

Big Apple/Wizard Comic Con October 7-10, 2010:
Via the mail beginning August 4, 2010, and post marked no later than Sept. 29, 2010
On site beginning Oct. 7, 2010, until 2:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010.

Wizard New Jersey Comic Con October 15-17, 2010:
 Via the mail beginning August 11, 2010, and post marked no later than Oct. 06, 2010
 On site beginning Oct.  15, 2010, until 2:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010.
