This is a beautifully shot film that has a lingering feeling of suspense as to what’s coming next. The music through out by accomplished Argentinean YAMIL BURGUENER is just as chilling as the plot. It has a classic feel to it, such as films by David lynch or Alfred Hitchcock. You can feel the passion of what writer director NICOLAS SIMONIN was trying to accomplish. The movie has a heart. It genuinely scared the hell out of me, and it’s been a long time since that has happened. The landscapes that Paris provided add an extra sense of unknowing fear.

Nicolas is a bright young talented filmmaker, with something that has long since been forgotten; film itself. He has the audience captivated with derailed, a tale of wrong place wrong time. But it’s so much more, while watching the film I actually felt myself grabbing the couch, strictly out of terror. It leaves you wanting more. And Nicolas has truly thought of something original. After the film you can go to a website and continue the story there, where you yourself can unfold the story how you want it to.

Nicolas began writing in France and has written for many French television show. He shot his first film entitled taxi in Argentina; he also studied in California at a screen writer’s workshop, but it was in France while riding his bike home from a friend’s house late one night when he saw these places in France. He began playing it out in his head. He went back at snapped some pictures. And he started to write derailed. A tale of a young mans life that spirals out of control and by the end has you asking yourself what you can do to save Eric, and the outcome is phenomenal, derailed has been gaining steam in festivals all across the United States. It has won several awards, including BEST FOREIGN FILM AT THE FEARLESS FILM FESTIVAL 2010, Forth Worth TEXAS OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN SHORT MOVIE at NEW PORT BEACH FILM FESTIVAL 2010 FINALIST ON FAMOUS MONSTER COMPETITION at THE FAMOUS MONSTER CONVENTION 2010, INDIANAPOLIS and with his third film on the horizon Nicolas is on the fast track to becoming a very successful writer director.
