Richard Taylor and Bizjack Flemco Productions bring us this Super 8 short which is a sick, vile, outrageous, and gory tale about a cannibalistic goth chick and her meeting up with her soulmate who turns out to be an incestuous freak with a pointed tail. With a title like The Misled Romance of Cannibal Girl and Incest Boy, you can pretty much know what to expect.
The film starts out with Lloyd Kaufman as a happy go lucky yuppy walking down the street who gets his head squashed under Cannibal Girl’s boot. Later on, protesters outside an abortion clinic are attacked and dismembered. A perverted doctor gets his wang bitten off behind a building when he has Cannibal Girl give him oral sex. Cannibal Girl and Incest Boy meet up and have sex. The two have a run in with some punks (including one who looks like Divine in Pink Flamingos) who all end up meeting gory demises including beheading, arm ripping, and disembowelment. Cannibal Girl and Incest Boy end up “winning each other’s hearts” in an ending you need to see for yourself.
Richard Taylor’s short is a delightful, humorous, depraved, sick and subversive must-see for fans of cinema in the tradition of John Waters and Troma. The Super 8 film fits the movie appropriately with an old school grindhouse look and the Troma-esque gore, nudity and perversion is prevalent throughout. It shows Richard Taylor is a highly inspired and energetic artist. I look forward to seeing what other twisted pieces of sick horror comedy he has in store for us.
Bizjack Flemco’s DVD release of Cannibal Girl and Incest Boy contains numerous extras such as commentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, cast and crew interviews, a couple of bonus shorts from Richard Taylor, etc.
