Turkey Shoot Screening in Chicago

Maverick filmmaker Brian Trenchard-Smith’s strangest film, Turkey Shoot is an ultra-violent post-apocalyptic action flick so chock-full of gore it was censored in almost every country it was released in. Set in the near-future, people who are considered social deviants or subversives are held captive in various internment camps where they have to survive a trap-laden escape maze in order to be released from captivity. A stylish sleeper, Turkey Shoot encompasses the gusto and sheer brazenness of Australian filmmakers at a time when their national cinema was unburdened by rules.
