Ice Road Terror Premiers June 11, 2011 on SyFy

If you love the SyFy films that center around a CGI beast terrorizing some sort of town, with lots of bad acting and even worse special effects – then rejoice! A new horror film, titled Ice Road Terror, will premier on the SyFy channel on June 11, 2011. Production shots and a trailer have yet to show up, but I did have the pleasure of talking to the film’s star, Brea Grant. This is what she had to say,

“It’s going to be on the Syfy network so I’m sure you can imagine what it’ll be like – monsters, effects, general fun. I play a research analyst who is hitchhiking in Alaska when a giant ice creature escapes from the depths of the earth. A few truckers—one really cute one—and I get chased, hurt, and generally put through the ringer by the creature. We filmed in Canada last year and I’ve always wanted to do a monster movie. It was a great opportunity for me to see Vancouver and get to run around screaming about a giant ice creature that technically wasn’t there.”

Created on the normal $2,000,000 budget for SyFy films and produced by ARO Entertainment, Ice Road Terror is written by Keith Shaw and directed by Terry Ingram. It will also star David Lyle, Dylan Neal (Chupacabra Terror), Ty Olsson (Alien Vs Predator: Requiem), and Malcolm Stewart (Goosebumps). Ice Road Terror is one of five new monster films SyFy will be premiering this summer. Are you guys ready for the bombardment of B-movie terror? Bring on the CGI monsters and aquatic hybrids!
