Star Studded Twitter Poll 2: Dedicated to Shark Night 3D

There is only one movie title that is synonymous with any idea or thought about sharks – Jaws. As director Cameron McCasland says, “Jaws is the benchmark all shark films are judged by.” Jaws, at its core, is ultimately a creature feature and one that is praised by genre fans across the globe. Way back in 1975, Steven Spielberg could never have imagined the shock waves Jaws created in the creature feature sub-genre. Today, giant aquatic mammals or mutated hybrid reptiles are a staple for The SyFy Channel and other venues wishing to cash in on all the mayhem. Just last weekend SyFy Channel had a marathon of creature features with such titles as Mega Piranha, Dinoshark, Swamp Shark, Malibu Shark Attack, and Supergator.

So, this leads us to the current summer where a new creature feature is set to make a splash at The Box Office. Last summer it was Piranha 3D, this summer it is… Shark Night 3D. Shark Night 3D will hit theaters near you next Friday, September 2nd, 2011. It will star Sara Paxton, Dustin Milligan, Alyssa Diaz, Chris Carmack, Katharine McPhee, and many others. In Shark Night 3D, seven friends go on a weekend vacation to a cabin at the Louisiana Gulf where a shark or sharks are released into the water. Do I need to go into anymore plot detail?

As I did with Scream 4, I hopped on to one of the world’s largest social networking sites – Twitter – and asked celebrities, “What is your favorite shark movie or creature feature?” This was all, of course, in honor and celebration of Shark Night 3D being released to theaters next Friday. I asked everyone from horror actresses, to models, to mainstream actors, to reality stars, singers and athletes, to directors; anyone who would be nice enough to respond. Here are their answers, along with their @twitters so you can follow them. Obviously, Jaws was the resounding answer, but there were a couple other interest answers.
