The Woman In Black is doing very well during its debut release weekend. This could be both in part to Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter fan base and that it is Super Bowl weekend. The film has grossed over $21,000,000 this weekend and is the number two movie, just being edged out of the number one spot by Chronicle which has a lead of less than a million dollars. The Woman In Black has already made back its budget, $13,000,000, so it is safe to say this film is a hit. Hopefully, it can work some magic during the week and overtake Chronicle to bring us our first number one horror film of 2012!
The Woman in Black stars Daniel Radcliffe, Sophie Stuckey, and Alexia Osborne. It is directed by James Watkins and written by Jane Goldman off the novel by Susan Hill. The Woman In Black is rated PG13 and follows, “A young lawyer who travels to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals.”
