Despite doing well in its opening week, Silent House took a large dip in ticket sales. I’m noticing a trend, and it’s sad when horror films are a success when they make just $20million or more. And, as of recently, this doesn’t happen often… Indie film Playback (which I will be on the DVD cover of in England, by the way) was released in America in one theater… Hopefully, the fact that one theater made $200 will cause it to get another theater or two and if so, go see!
12 5 Silent House $2,831,000 (Total: $11,322,000)
17 13 Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance $1,148,000 (Total: $50,031,000)
20 16 Chronicle $657,000 (Total: $63,327,000)
26 17 Gone $358,000 (Total: $11,450,000)
29 22 The Woman In Black $318,000 (Total: $53,550,000)
53 100 The Devil Inside $55,000 (Total: $53,261,000)
87 96 The Snowtown Murders $2,000 (Total: $8,000)
97 Playback $200
The only two DVDs on the Top 30 Chart aren’t even horror. Twilight is crappy science fiction and Real Steel is tolerable science fiction. Oh well… Hopefully there are interesting releases or surges next week…
8 4 Twilight/Dawn 1 $3,044,000 (Total: $85,280,000)
20 16 Real Steel $677,000 (Total: $22,385,000)
The Walking Dead season two finale had the highest number of viewers in AMC history. I wish I could say the same for Monster Man, which is turning out not to be a ratings monster at all.
