Dead Story Wins at Worldfest Houston

THE SHORT FILM “HISTORIA MUERTA” (DEAD STORY) WINS THE SPECIAL JURY REMI AWARD AT WORLDFEST-HOUSTON.

The International Film Festival WorldFest-Houston, in Texas, has played this year its 45th edition and is one of the third oldest international festival from USA. The festival, founded by Todd Hunter, also organizes activities such as lectures, regattas in the Galveston Bay or trips to NASA. In this edition, from 13 to 22 April, have entered into the competition more than 4,500 jobs around the world, having passed the selection process 12% of these.

The Remi Awards, inspired by the artist Frederic Remington, are the highest awards granted by the festival. This award was received at the beginning recognized filmmakers like David Lynch, Ang Lee, Oliver Stone, Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, George Lucas or Brian De Palma. In this present edition, the Spanish short film “Dead Story”, written and directed by Fran Mateu, has won the Special Jury Remi Award at the “Horror Shorts” category. The Special Jury Remi Award is the highest award for creative excellence in each major category.

“Dead Story” is a gothic and bizarre love story narrated in two different times by Samuel, who tells us how he met Isabel, a supernatural person, and how his life changed after meeting her. The official site of the short film is
