Camp St. Zombie will be directed and produced by Joe Van Wie. Joe was the executive producer of Forged, a locally shot independent film that won Best Picture at the HBO International Latino Film Festival. It was released theatrically by Maya Entertainment and is now on DVD and VOD.
Joe Van Wie was also the associate producer on La Soga. It was the first film ever shot in the Dominican Republic to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was released theatrically by 7-57 Releasing and is now on DVD and video on demand.
Our film will tell the story of St. Lazarus, a camp for wayward children run by the Catholic Church. After two inept military soldiers dump a barrel of toxic waste into the lake, the children begin mutating into flesh-hungry zombies. Now a young priest and the rest of the camp counselors must defend themselves against a horde of undead children.
