Where Are They Now? : Alex Vincent

With the recent announcement of the Child’s Play remake and fifth sequel in the franchise, I thought this Where Are They Now would be better off spent on one of the franchise’s leading characters – little Andy Barclay. He’s all grown up now, by the way, but still embraces his doll-fearing days.

At the age of five, Alex Vincent landed the role of Andy Barclay in the iconic horror film, Child’s Play. Alex reprised this role again two years later in the sequel Child’s Play 2. After doing a few other films – Wait Until Spring, Bandini, Just Like In The Movies, and My Family Treasures – Alex took a break from acting to finish up High School in New Jersey.

Unfortunately, Hollywood wasn’t so welcoming to Mr. Vincent upon his return. According to one source, Alex became disheartened with Hollywood and after 15 failed auditions, he called it quits once again. Instead, Alex pursued a degree in Recording Arts. Along with sound engineering, he is the lead singer of a band called Perception and publishes his own poetry. He has also appeared in a string of horror themed documentaries.

It seems that the last decade has been more friendly to Alex. He constantly makes appearances at various horror conventions and festivals; one in particular will be this August at Crypticon in Kansas City. As far as filmography goes, he recently booked two roles – a small role in Australia’s horror flick Dead County and a cameo in 2011’s On The Ropes.
