Welcome to Kronanburg! Kronanburg has all the charm and wit of your typical small, suburban town, but something sinister lurks around every corner. The crazy priest in the cemetery whacking people with an ax, the doctor’s office filled with slutty girls and “interesting” patients, the whorehouse where more than bodily fluids are swapped, the never-ending battle between nuns and hippies, and the housewife obsessed with The Price Is Right… I mean, really, as horror fans – who wouldn’t want to pack up and move to Kronanburg?
Psycho Street is the latest horror anthology to hit the scene and it has three very unique qualities that I think puts it a step above the rest. Firstly, all the short films hosted inside Psycho Street are completely original. I cannot think of a single film that one of the shorts borrow from. Secondly, there is a lot of nudity – both male and female. The horror genre tends to applaud for female nudity, yet shy away from showing much male nudity. The Muscle Wolf Men are all on display here and they rise to the occasion (pun intended). Thirdly, Psycho Street has what I call “What the Fuck” factor. I can guarantee that you will see things in Psycho Street that you have never seen anywhere in horror cinema. Examples of this include tit eating, throwing up babies, and an action figure being stuck up someone’s butt.
Psycho Street is really a mix of genres. Yes, most of it is horror, but there is also a lot of science fiction and a lot of comedy too. Just like a good restaurant, Psycho Street has a little something for everybody. Slasher, almost backwoods horror in Come On Down, horror-comedy in Hypochondriac, scifi-thriller drama in Anti-bodies, and 70’s classic horror in Lewis. While I have tried not to spoil too much for anyone reading this, I do need to say that the highlight of the film is a bitch fight, knife battle between two reigning Scream Queens Tiffany Shepis and Raine Brown. This portion of the Come On Down segment is nothing short of epic. I think it could turn out to be something cult, something that goes down in indie horror film history.
Psycho Street has appearances from many industry veterans including Marv Blauvelt (Scuplture), Raine Brown (100 Tears), Tiffany Shepis (Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!), Alan Rowe Kelly (The Blood Shed), Susan Adriensen (Experiment 7), Kitsie Duncan (Lethal Obsession), Jared Degado (Mother’s Blood), Kaylee Williams (Zombie Babies), Joe Zaso (Rage of The Werewolf), Kelsey Zukowski (What They Say), and many others. Psycho Street contains behind-the-scenes work – whether it be writing, producing, directing, etc – from Marv Blauvelt, Raine Brown, Patrick Desmond, Anthony Sumner, Trevor Wright, Anthony Colliano, David Hancock, and many others.
So what is one good quote, one good sentence I can use to pitch Psycho Street to you all. How about, “An original, blood-soaked thrill ride that will leave every horror fan pleased.” or “A soon to be cult classic filled with blood, nudity, and sheer cinematic enjoyment.” or “Marv Blauvelt as a doctor, a biker, and a 70’s porn star looking guy – enough said.”
