Walkabout Turns Five, Presents Poe

And we’re back. This year, Walkabout: Theater on your Feet turns five years old!

It has been quite a run with close to 2,000 attendees, more than 300 performances, multiple performances groups and a variety of locations – all scattered throughout downtown Elgin.

Since the beginning of this ambulatory experience, we have tried to reinvigorate and reinvent the event by adding different themes, locations, artists, musicians, etc.

But this year we’ve stretched ourselves to present something classic and unique all at once.

Walkabout: Tales from Poe will feature four short stories adapted for performance and presented by the Great American Artistic Consortium, Nothing Special Productions, Guild Theatre and Janus Theater Company.

We’ll be starting at Elgin Public House and ending at Al’s Café, where they will once again provide complimentary malts to people who attend the performance.

It should be a lively (and deadly) experience. Stay tuned for future updates.
