The villainous leitmotif of no-wave band The Roosters proves literally lethal as it drives young artist Reno Miller (played by the director himself) to mutilate those around him (including several bums) with an automatic drill. In America, the film was released without incident, since we can all relate to the anti no-wave sentiments. The Brits, though, banned the film within a year of its release, citing it as one of the films most responsible for the collective censorship of other “video nasties” of the 80s
