Horror Sales: The Possession, The Apparition, and Grimm

Box office numbers, DVD sales, and television viewership for the week of August 31 to September 6, 2012

Box Office: The Possession takes the #1 spot at the box office, becoming only the second horror movie in 2012 to top the box office charts. The Apparition bombs down the chart and loses 73% of sales. Despite seeing a small theatrical release, no numbers were recorded for The Tall Man.

DVD Top 30: Dexter Season Six is the only horror themed title that makes the chart this week. With the Fall season coming up, and Halloween season, hopefully this will pick up soon.

Television Viewership: Grimm is the top horror dog of the TV world now that True Blood has seen its season finale. A new season of Ghost Hunters returns with its best premiere in over two years. Face Off is gaining its viewers back.
