Horror Sales: Resident Evil, Fringe, and Hot Set

Box office numbers, DVD sales, and television viewership for the week of September 14 to 20, 2012

Box Office: The fifth Resident Evil movie comes in at #1, becoming the third horror film to reach #1 in 2012. Despite the showing, the gross sales were kind of low. The Possession stays in the top 3. Indie suspense-thriller Slaughter Creek comes in at #47 and REC 3 is still struggling.

9 Fringe: Season Four $2,285,000

19 14 Dexter: Season Six $916,000 (Total: $12,072,000)

Television Viewership: We need a new episode of Grimm! I’m glad to see Face Off saw a huge spike in viewers (almost 400,000 more tuned in this week compared to last week), but the new shot Hot Set tanked on its premiere night. Any film/television enthusiasts should really give it a look because it shows how sets are created.
