The Lansing, Michigan based feature film Ashes of Eden being produced by Shane Hagedorn and DJ Perry has recently announced some additional cast members. The film “Ashes of Eden” is a collaboration between New House Entertainment, Collective Development Inc. and Ahptic Productions. “Ashes of Eden” is a gritty drama with a redemptive ending showcasing a wide spectrum of characters we all can relate to.

One of these characters will be portrayed by dramatic powerhouse Abigail Mason, winner of the 2008 Grace Award for Most Inspirational TV Acting for her role in “Saving Sarah Cain,” directed by Michael Landon Junior.  Abigail continues to seek out the most quality stories.  Abigail also received a Nomination for Leading Young Actress in TV Movie (Young Artist Award) for her work.  Abigail will play opposite fellow Michigan actor DJ Perry, both playing drug dealers who endanger the film’s lead.

“Abby is one of the best talents to come from the state of Michigan and we’re glad to have her aboard.” – DJ Perry, producer

Also joining the cast is Owosso, Michigan actor Anthony Hornus. He is a powerful character actor known for notable roles in such films as “Heaven’s Neighbors,” “Wicked Spring” and “Miracle at Sage Creek”.

“I’m very excited to land such a seasoned screen actor as Tony (Hornus). He will play a troubled character, wrestling with his own demons.”
– Shane Hagedorn, director/producer

Lastly, Mary Grace Casanova will play a supporting role in the film as the auntie to our Hispanic leads played by Texas actress Mayra Leal and NYC actor Carlucci Weyant. Ms. Casanova’s breakout performance was in the film, The Model Father.  A retired General Motors employee, Mary Grace hopes to continue with her own filmmaking.

Filming begins this fall with locations in the Michigan picturesque cities of Portland and Lansing, MI.
