Living Dead Festival Downtown Raleigh

Living Dead Festival to Descend on Downtown Raleigh. Festival to be the City’s First Largescale Halloween Event.

On Saturday, October 27th, City Plaza will be overtaken by zombies and Halloween lovers for the Raleigh Living Dead Festival. This family friendly festival is uniting over 18 local organizations to produce Raleigh’s first ever, large-scale Halloween Festival.

Organizers including the Raleigh Chapter of the Jaycees and Live Gumption are expecting a crowd in the thousands to attend, with hopes to springboard Raleigh into a well-known Halloween destination for the Southeast. “As Halloween festivals continue to get overcrowded in Chapel Hill and other locations, we wanted to provide an alternative here in Raleigh,” said Ashley Nemeth, of the Raleigh Jaycees.

Event organizers from Live Gumption said that the event will feature, a “ReDress the Dead” fashion show, make-up booth, Zombie Dance camp with a street-wide flash mob of “Thriller”, live music, a children’s zone, Zombie Circus street performances, vendor tents, food trucks and the Zombie Olympic obstacle course.

Organizations assisting with the event include: The Raleigh Jaycees, North Carolina Performing Art’s Center, North Carolina State University College of Design, Cirque De Vol and Legacy Event Planners.

Tickets for the event are $10 for guests 18 and under and $15 for those over 18. Proceed from ticket sales will benefit multiple Triangle area nonprofit organizations.
