Films about the Devil and demons continue to be very popular and lucrative for Hollywood over the past several years due to the popularity of films such as The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), The Rite (2011), The Devil Inside (2012), and The Possession (2012) just to name a few.
The Last Exorcism Part II has released the first official trailer.
The sequel to the 2010 hit film dealing with demonic possession was inevitable since it had a budget of around $2 million and had a worldwide gross of $67 million. The first film made a ton of cash but wasn’t a great film, so we will see what happens with the sequel.
Film Synopsis:
In the continuing story, Nell Sweetzer is found terrified and alone in rural Louisiana. When she returns to the relative safety of New Orleans, Nell finds that she can’t remember large portions of the previous months, but she does know that she is the last surviving member of her family. As Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her comes back with terrible new plans for her, meaning that her last exorcism was just the beginning.
Due to hit theaters on March 1st, 2013, The Last Exorcism Part II was directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly and stars Ashley Bell.
