Interview with horror hottie Mindy Robinson

photo (2)

Mindy Robinson broke on to the horror movie scene in 2011, with Mansion of Blood, and she hasn’t looked back since. She’s one of the hottest rising stars in film today – her work ethic and dedication is unquestionable. Her fans love and adore her – which they have every right too. She’s one of the nicest and honest people in Hollywood, and that’s pretty rare.

I recently got the opportunity to talk with the blonde bomb shell about her love or horror films, her career and about her awesome new project she’s apart of called Veronique Von Venom: Horror Hostess Hottie – the title says it all. I think it’s perked your interest. I know it did mine.

For those that don’t know, what is the first horror film you did?

Mindy Robinson: The first horror film I did was Mansion of Blood in 2011.

What was that experience like?

Mindy Robinson: I accidentally ended up with a role in it and launched my acting career pretty much overnight.

I know you like comedies, but what would be your favorite horror film of all time?

Mindy Robinson: The Grudge, there was no CG and the ghosts were inescapable!

What is it that you love about horror films?

Mindy Robinson: I grew up watching horror movies, and there’s something to be said about watching the most horrible things happen to people from the safe distance of your sofa, lol.

photoIf you could work with one horror icon, who would be and why?

Mindy Robinson: Vincent Price, does anyone have a shovel?

You also do a lot of modeling work: If you had to choose, would you rather be a full time model or a full time actress or both?

Mindy Robinson: I model for fun, but acting is definitely where my hearts at. I like to talk :P

Okay let’s get to the more serious questions, you seem to be working all the time, is there projects that you just say, “No way, I can’t do that?”

Mindy Robinson: I’ve done some random and questionable projects for sure, but yes I’ve turned down roles before. There’s no point in doing a movie if the production value is completely unwatchable….

Who gave you your first big break?

Mindy Robinson: Take Me Out with George Lopez on FOX definitely scored me some amazing prime time exposure…luckily I was an actress on a reality show, and not a reality star trying to be an actor, I luckily already had a decent list of credits by then.

What is it that you look for when choosing the roles?

Mindy Robinson: I’m not as typecast as one may think, right now I’m looking to play a military type character since its one of the few things I haven’t done…although I suppose the options are endless.

You’re a part of this awesome web series called Veronique Von Venom: Horror Hostess Hottie, it reminds me so much of Elvira, how did this show come about?

Mindy Robinson: I had worked with Jose Prendes on The Haunting of Whaley House (watch it on Redbox) and he came to me with this whole character and script which I fell in love with immediately!

There’s a lot of comedy in the show, do you sit down with the writers and work that out or how much of the show is just improve?

Mind Robinson: Jose writes the shows topics and outlines on index cards…and then pretty much everything else is improv…usually in one take with few exceptions, lol. Hence the jokes about planes overhead and toilets flushing…things that usually require reshooting…we just went with it

How much fun is it to walk on set every day to tape this show, it seems like everyone is just having a blast?

Mindy Robinson: I love being on any set, but it’s always like a reunion getting to work with the Whaley House peeps. We also did the series “No Rest For the Wicked” that’ll be out soon and we’re working on another project next week!

Is there anything that I left out, that you want to tell the fans about?

Mindy Robinson: I do a lot of stuff so I’ll focus here on the most immediate…watch me on King of the Nerds this season as Pom Pom Kitty, and as myself on Millionaire Matchmaker and Guinness World Records Gone Wild, and the comedy feature “Casting Couch” will be out for rent/purchase March 12! Please check out my IMDB for a full list of credits for past and upcoming projects!!! There are a ton of horror movies to come too!!! Check it out!
