Nationally Known Comic Artists Chris Yambar and Jon Alderink To Appear At Grand Rapids Comic-Con

The Grand Rapids Comic-Con is happy to announce that comic book artists Chris Yambar and Jon Alderink will be guests at the inaugural Grand Rapids Comic-Con.

Yambar is a longtime illustrator of comic books for The Simpsons franchise, including doing covers and stories for titles such as “Radioactive Man”, “Bart Simpson’s Treehouse Of Horrors”, and “Bart Simpson Comics”. Chris has also done artwork for special edition comics of Mr. Magoo and I Dream Of Jeannie, plus he has done specialized work for the band KISS. In addition to displaying original art and meeting and greeting attendees, Chris will do a seminar at the show called “From Zero To The Simpsons” on how an independent artist can make a living in comics, which will be a must for any smalltime artist at the show looking to expand their horizons.

Alderink is a digital colorer who works for HiFi Colour Design and has done projects for DC, Marvel, and Disney. Titles Alderink has worked on include Justice League: Generation Lost, Booster Gold, Superman and Green Lantern, as well as children books the Spider-man Storybook Collection and 5-Minute Marvel Stories. Alderink will also conduct a seminar at the Grand Rapids Comic-Con on a yet to be decided topic.

“Chris and Jon are excellent additions to the line-up for the Grand Rapids Comic-Con,” said event coordinator Mark Hodges. “Both are excellent artists who are currently active in their field. In addition, both will deliver quality talks at the show and will add to the educational and informational aspect of the event.”

The Grand Rapids Comic-Con will be announcing 3-5 more professional comic book artists in the near future.

The Grand Rapids Comic-Con will be held on October 12, 2013, at the Home School Building, 5625 Burlingame Ave. SW, in Wyoming, Michigan. The show will feature appearances from several nationally known comic book artists as well as seminars, programming for families, and lots of fun. Tickets for the show will be $5 at the door only.
