2010 – Zelda Rubinstein was best known as the diminutive psychic in “Poltergeist”, and such films as “Poltergeist II: The Other Side”, “Anguish”, “Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon”.

2009 – Novelist John Updike, who wrote the book “The Witches of Eastwick” on which the film was based, passed away at the age of 76.

2007 – Tige Andrews, who was best known for playing “Captain Adam Greer” on the TV series “The Mod Squad.” he also starred in the film “The Werewolf of Woodstock” passed away at the age of 86.

2005 – Paul A. Partain, who starred in the original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and also appeared in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation” and “Race With The Devil,” passed away at the age of 58

1994 – Claude Akins, who appeared in the TV movie, “The Night Stalker,” and the films “The Curse,” “Battle For the Planet of the Apes” and “Tentacles,” passed away at the age of 67.

1993 – Wrestler Andre the Giant, who appeared in the films “The Princess Bride,” “Conan the Destroyer” and as “Bigfoot” on the TV series, “The Six Million Dollar Man,” passed away at the age of 46.

1978 – Oskar Homolka, who appeared in the films “Mr. Sardonicus,” “The Invisible Woman” and the 1968 TV version of “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde,” passed away at the age of 79.
