1971 – Reneé O’Connor, best known for playing “Gabrielle” on the TV series “Xena, Warrior Princess.” She also appeared in the films “Darkman II: The Return of Durant” and “Boogeyman 2.”

1931 – Claire Bloom, who starred in the original 1963 version of “The Haunting,” and “The Illustrated Man.”

1914 – Kevin McCarthy, who starred in the 1956 version of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” He also appeared in the film’s 1978 remake and the movies “Twilight Zone: The Movie,” “Piranha” and “The Howling.”

1907 – Cesar Romero, who portrayed the “Joker” on the “Batman” TV series. He also appeared in the films “Latitude Zero” and “The Spectre of Edgar Allan Poe.”

1899 – Gale Sondergaard, who starred in the 1939 version of “The Cat and the Canary,” the 1941 version of “The Black Cat” and “The Invisible Man’s Revenge.”

1883 – Sax Rohmer, who created the character “Fu Manchu.”

1882 – “The Great Profile” John Barrymore, who played the title role in the 1920 silent version of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” He also starred in “The Invisible Woman.”
