New Film, AS:VS is Spinal Tap meets John Carpenter`s Vampires.
Memphis, TN – February 15, 2013 – AS:VS At Stake: Vampire Solutions is welcome and fresh for the congested genre of vampire films. Not only does it focus on financially struggling exterminators of said ghouls, but it fully re-envisions the entire vampire mythology in a most intelligent and satirical fashion. Audiences are bound to appreciate the grounded approach with which writer Duane P. Craig and director Jim Weter have traded the supernatural ambiguity of the vampire mythos for medical and scientific plausibility. Vampires become believable in the world of AS:VS, they are not-so-romantic or to be trifled with and even hints of social commentary arise, though the overall effect is a darkly humorous film. Thrills are also to be found, and the film has a climax scene that will surely remain memorable.
Fans of Christopher Guest mockumentaries, as well as vampire film fans will approve. Intelligent, humorous and bound to satisfy, AS:VS is another micro-budget, indie film sure to make a very big impression. For now, US-self-release on dvd begins Tuesday, Feb. 19th (though all further avenues of distribution are being negotiated – we’ll still field any/all offers). The main goal is getting it out to film fans, as entertaining is our top priority.
