TV – Stephen King’s ‘Under the Dome’ Miniseries Finds its Female Lead

Under the Dome imageThere has been quite a bit of casting updates within the last couple of weeks on the CBS Summer miniseries adapted from the Stephen King novel, Under the Dome.  Today brings word of the casting of its leading lady, Rachelle Lefevre.

From The Hollywood Reporter, CBS’ Under the Dome has found its leading lady.  Twilight’s Rachelle Lefevre has been tapped to join the network’s sci-fi drama.  Based on the book by Stephen King, the summer series follows residents in the community of Chester’s Mill as they deal with the postapocalyptic conditions that ensue when a strange dome mysteriously encapsulates the town.

Lefevre will play Julia, an investigative reporter who just moved from Chicago to Chester’s Mill with her husband, a doctor at the town’s medical center. She’s the editor of the town’s local paper and is intrigued after learning of multiple deliveries of propane gas to a nearby warehouse. She’s baffled by the appearance of the strange dome but more concerned with the whereabouts of her mysteriously missing husband.

Plot Synopsis:

A small New England town suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from and if and when it will go away.
