TV – ‘True Blood’ Season 6 Gets a Premiere Date

True Blood logoIf you’ve been waiting patiently for the upcoming Season 6 of HBO’s hit vampire series True Blood, then we’ve got some news for you.  Today it was announced that season 6 will return on June 19th, 2013  for a 10 episode run.

All the series regulars will be returning, including Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Deborah Ann Woll, and some new faces for this season, Rob Kazinsky and Rutger Hauer.

Also, there was a showrunner shakeup going on behind the scenes, according to The Wrap, In addition to the new cast members, “True Blood” also received a new showrunner earlier this month. Mark Hudis, who was tapped to replace series creator Alan Ball as showrunner, stepped down in early March. According to HBO, Hudis vacated the post in order to take on development, as per his overall deal with HBO.

Hudis is being replaced by “True Blood” co-executive producer Brian Buckner, who’s been on staff since the show’s first season.
