While I’m not a big fan of the Scary Movie franchise or the recent A Haunted House Film, they pull in a pretty good box office and do have a place in the genre. We have word today that A Haunted House 2 will begin production this Summer.
Variety is reporting, Open Road Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to spoof sequel “A Haunted House 2,” starring Marlon Wayans.
The film will be financed and produced by IM Global’s genre label Octane. Wayans is also co-writing the script.
The original “A Haunted House,” a parody of found footage horror films, opened in January and has grossed over $40 million to date for Open Road. It will bow on DVD and VOD April 23.
Production of the sequel will begin this summer for release next winter.
