The master of horror, Stephen King is making another comeback, of sorts. Throughout the 80’s and most of the 90’s, King was one of the most prolific authors around and the undisputed King of horror. His works were everywhere on TV and film, if he had written a grocery list on a roll of toilet paper whilst sitting on the throne, someone would’ve turned that into a miniseries. But for over a decade now, we haven’t seen very much of his stuff on TV or film. Lately though, it looks like the works of King are coming back to life.
We have gotten word on another King property that looks to be headed to TV as either a series or miniseries. J.J. Abrams production company Bad Robot is in negotiations to adapt the Stephen King novel 11/22/63. According to Deadline, the plan is to adapt the novel in one of the mentioned television formats more than likely for cable.
11/22/63 centers on Jake, an unassuming divorced English teacher who stumbles upon a time portal that leads to 9/9/1958 and goes on a quest to try and prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy, which occurred on November 22, 1963.
I would love to see this happen!
