The latest news from phenomenal actor Damian Maffei. This time around he will be starring in a play called ‘Suckerfish’ alongside another one of our favorite people, Andrea Boehlke. The pair has previously worked together on The House That Cried Blood, a short film that captured the true essence of Halloween. While ‘Suckerfish’ may not be straight up horror, it does sound like it will have some supernatural and bloody elements in between all the stage direction. The play will run for three days this July in New York. Find all the info below!

On a city street corner, between madness and sanity, all that stands in the way of Hank and freedom is a certifiable homeless man, and a pay phone that can’t hear out.
The victim of a hit and run, citizen Hank (Maffei) finds himself sprawled out on a city street corner, bleeding from his head, ignored by passersby. Mind and body are put to the test as his one hope of rescue lies mere feet away in the form of a payphone.
The problem is that this payphone is guarded by a homeless man (Smith Jr.) named “Dildohead”… And it can’t hear out. An imposter (Wexler) and a misplaced acquaintance (Boehlke) torture the citizen with violence and a forgotten truth.
You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over… Into Suckerfish.

The Midtown International Theatre Festival’s 2013 Season runs from July 15 – August 4, 2013 at the June Havoc Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, 1st floor; the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, 1st floor; the Main Stage Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, 4th floor; and the Jewel Box Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, 4th floor.
John Chatterton created the MITF in 2000, a Midtown alternative to other theatre festivals, as a way to present the finest Off-Off Broadway talent in convenience, comfort, and safety. In 2003, the MITF moved its activities to their current location, the Theatre Building on W. 36th St., where it has been successfully ensconced since. In 2008 the Festival expanded from two theatres in that building to four, at the WorkShop Theater Company and Abingdon Theatre Company spaces. The MITF’s artistic emphasis is on the script itself, and therefore the Festival focuses on effective but minimal production values.
