I love Monique Dupree, and I love wrestling, so eventually I’m going to have to see this in person.
It’s no secret that Monique Dupree is a fan of pro-wrestling. The First Black Scream Queen herself – who has starred in films such as Pot Zombies, Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned, Bikini Bloodbath Christmas, Step Up 3D, and the upcoming Plan 9 remake – is occasionally discussing wrestling topics on her personal Facebook page and has several real friendships with wrestling icons. In fact, her whole family gravitates towards the sport, and I’m pretty sure at least one of her children participates in a wrestling promotion.
Speaking of participation… This past weekend – June 22, 2013 to be exact – Monique made her wrestling debut in the House of Hardcore promotion. House of Hardcore is an independent circuit primarily located on the East Coast, and has many recognizable talents including John Morrison (3 time WWE Intercontinental Champion), founder Tommy Dreamer (14 time WWF/E Hardcore Champion), Jazz (2 time WWF/E Women’s Champion), Katarina Waters (2 time TNA Women’s Knockout Champion), and Big Daddy V (WWF World Tag Team Champion).
Monique appeared at House of Hardcore #2 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and debuted as a heel valet. Basically, a heel is a professional wrestling term for villain and a valet is a secondary role meant to accompany someone on the main roster. While I can’t confirm all the exact details, as you will see below, Monique did see some action in her wrestling premiere. Was this a one time deal or will Dupree find herself competing for the House of Hardcore Women’s Championship one day? Either way, being that this promotion is roughly in my area, I’ll be keeping my eye out for future events.
