A New Type of Slasher

Writer/Director Sean Reynolds, promises horror fans, a new kind of slasher for his up coming horror film NeverWake.

“This is a different approach to a slasher character, than what’s currently on the market.” States Reynolds of his Reverend Black character.

“Number one he’s a vampire, so he brings some pretty big supernatural power with him. Plus he’s doing this for reasons he finds justified. The average slasher, tends to be devoid of personality. Their all hulking, silent guys who hack through anything. Black believes in his own mind, he is still doing the lords work. That’s what makes him really scary.”

“Don’t get me wrong I love Micheal Myers and Jason. But I think they’ve had their day, now is the time for something different. Reynolds hopes to revitalize the genre with new blood. I just hope horror fans are receptive to Black’s and his vendetta. “- Sean Reynolds

  1. I think this is a great idea! As much as I love a good ol sociopathic slasher with no emotion or personality, I much prefer Fred Krueger for his personality and humorous tendencies. He’ll kill you, but he’ll kill you with a few jokes too! I think a vampire slasher with an actual motive could be very interesting and it intrigues me! I found the movie “Satan’s Little Helper” to be very interesting, considering it was a slasher but not your typical slasher. This little kid is a big fan of this video game where you kill people dressed as Satan. Around Halloween this man who wears a Satan costume gets approached by the child, who’s oblivious to the fact the dead man in Mr. Satan’s yard is a real dead man. He thinks everything is merely Halloween, and all a game. So he and the child go around causing mayhem in the streets, once again, child is completely oblivious to the fact it’s all real. Quite an interesting storyline and plot, I found.
