10403646_10101386874589251_5640660579293947111_n“Angela was born on January 2nd in Charlottesville, Va. She grew up in a home where she was allowed to be creative, from sewing costumes, doing makeup, and acting in school plays, and later film.

Angela has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from University of NC at Greensboro, and a Masters in Liberal Studies and Ethnomusicology from UNCG as well! She has worked as a teacher of band and orchestra for K-12. Angela has also appeared in over 20 films and short films, and has worked on special fx makeup on just as many!”*

Location: (where is home base for you?) Asheboro, NC and Charlottesville, VA. I am originally from Charlottesville, and am always there for family and film, but I live in Asheboro currently.

1. How did you get into the industry?

I have always been very involved with theatre, whether it was performing, or working makeup and costuming. I was asked to come out and be in a scene for a horror film that was filming in the town I live in and was using the comic book store I was working at, at the time, as a location. Once I got involved with the one scene I was acting in, I got pulled in to help with makeup as well, that was 2004. After that I got incredibly lucky by getting to work with many wonderful North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia directors. Many of them I have worked on multiple films with and hope I continue getting to make horror (and non horror movies).

2. What Scream Queen inspired you most?

I have always been a huge fan of strong intelligent woman in horror movies. Barbara Crampton, Camille Keaton, as well as many other scream queens I also love watching! I am also a huge fan of Hammer Horror films so I loved watching Hazel Court, Ingrid Pitt, Veronica Carlson, and Barbara Shelly (all of which were the characters namesakes in my short film, The Gnome Before Christmas). Seeing so many amazing woman in horror inspired me to want to work in the genre.

3. What are the next couple projects you are working on?

I have a few projects I will be working on, or that are coming out within the next few months. Skeleton Key 4 from Darkstone Entertainment, which I will be acting and working on Makeup Fx with Bio Duck Fx.

I will be working on the film Pig Girl from Razor Sharp Films; I will be working on Fx for this film, which will be incredibly fun since Razor Sharp has not done a serious minded horror film, their past films have been comedic horror.

Also coming out in October will be the second season of The Crawling Dead from Razor Sharp Films, which will have my appearance in the series, as well as fx work, and costuming work for the zombie babies in the series. If you missed out on the first season, they have it up on their Youtube channel, and have a DVD of the entire series (uncut!) available as well.

A film I worked on a while ago, Plan 9 also just had its premiere and will be coming out at some point!

Lastly my fourth short film I have written and directed will be finished and sent to film festivals, it is a horror short titled The Marionette.
