This is a friendly petition to Miramax Films/Miramax Home Entertainment to release the much sought-after “Producer’s Cut” of Halloween 6 on Blu-Ray. Bootleg versions have made the rounds at Horror conventions and internet forums for years, but of course they have always sufferred from extremely poor video quality on VHS and DVD-R. Fans of the franchise and the Horror community at large have been waiting since 1995 to see a remastered “official” studio release of this fan-favorite version of the film.
As of September 2013, Echo Bridge Home Entertainment currently holds the rights to distribute Halloween 6 on home video (through Miramax), and did in fact release the theatrical version on Blu-Ray in 2011, but this was not the Producer’s Cut that fans have been clamoring for.
We do realize that the film negative itself may require restoration or remastering for High Definition, and if a Kickstarter campaign is necessary to have that completed for a future Blu-Ray release, we will do all that we can to provide funding for the project.
This release would not only be guaranteed to be a huge seller for your company (and the distributor), but you would be making fans of the Halloween franchise extremely satisfied to finally have an official copy of this version to add to their collections.
