Residents of West Virginia do not have the same liberties as those living in other states.  Growing up I was usually upset around the Halloween season because people in other areas had the opportunity to watch some of my favorite movies on the big screen.  I was jealous of those that were able to go to their local theater (the closest one to me growing up was over an hour away in another state) and see classics like the original Night of the Living Dead, The Blob, and even more modern flicks like A Nightmare on Elm St and Friday the 13th.  To be able to watch movies like this during the month of October would have put me in a euphoric state.

After college I married and moved about 3 hours north but I am still in the mountain state and just 20 minutes away a theater is showing some great horror classic this month.  Those near the Beckley area can stop in every weekend this month to check out Beetlejuice, The Shining, Night of the Living Dead, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

All shows are $5 with the exception of The Rocky Horror Picture Show which is $10.  Those interested can check out The Raleigh Playhouse via Facebook here and their website here.  Showtimes are below along with the dates so check it out or visit the site for more info!
