On October 48th [yes], Skeleton Key Films releases their debut feature, 48 Hours in Purgatory.

Originally premiering in 2009. The film was moved to the back-burner as the company dove head-first into several other film projects.

Synopsis: A crew of successful independent documentarians set out to make their most controversial cinematic entry yet: a filmed psychological experiment. Six subjects will spend 48 hours alone in a room, under the watchful eye of a camera. During this time, the crew-members ask them questions, attempting to lead them into confrontation with their inner demons. When tragedy strikes, however, all bets are off and the very seams of sanity begin to come unstitched.

Starring: Andrew Roth (My Name is Paul, Backwater), Emily Alatalo (Route of Acceptance, The Scarehouse) and Colin Paradine (The Unleashed, Antisocial)

With three major project releases upcoming, the time was finally right for Skeleton Key Films to set 48 HiP free to find its audience.

On October 48th, the film will become available for direct order (via Paypal) at skgfilms.com, as well as via various VOD outlets (to be announced on sale date).

DVD features:
Stereo & 5.1 audio mixes.
Writer/Director commentary/insights.
Short companion film following a reporters’ search for Brody Hawkins in the wake of the events of 48HiP.
Still Gallery loaded with great set pictures from photographer Jeremy Ransom
Featurette: “The First Time We Made This Movie” (aka “What took so dang long?”)
A sequel to the film, in the form of a novel, will be available in the spring.
