Director Chris Leto is hard at work trying to raise funds for his new flick The Ritual. As you can tell from the poster work above that this will be a modern retelling of the infamous Jack the Ripper killings. Like so many other indie directors, Leto is turning to crowdfunding to raise the money for the film. Leto has turned to kickstarter to run his campaign and you can read below what the kickstarter page has to say about the project:
“6 months ago Filmmaker Chris Leto put ads out all over the country looking for a script for his next project. After receiving over 150 scripts and synopsis he chose “The Ritual” written by Roger Sampson. “The Ritual” is an exciting story filled with tension, suspense and brutality. Chris has always been fascinated with the story of Jack the Ripper and this story puts that fascination on a whole different level. Chris believes in this story and thinks it will translate to film brilliantly. The budget raised will go to pay crew and some cast. Travel expenses, food on set, props, special Fx, locations, insurances all needed to produce a film. We will be shooting over 15 days.”
