Ageless Oblivion

The progressive death metal band Ageless Oblivion are getting set to unleash their second album entitled “Penthos” via SOAR/Century Media Records.  We’ve got all the details on the new album right here along with the first single ‘Glacial Blood’ down below.

From The Press Release

UK progressive death outfit AGELESS OBLIVION has unveiled their brand new full-length,Penthos, set for release on March 17th in Europe and on March 18th in North America (digital only) via SOAR/Century Media Records.

Produced by Chris Fielding (NAPALM DEATH, ELECTRIC WIZARD) and mixed by Hertz Studios (BEHEMOTH, DECAPITATED), Penthos is a devastating blend of MORBID ANGEL-death metal, AKERCOCKE-style blackened heaviness and NEUROSIS-inspired soundscapes. The result is a jaw-dropping effort that takes the unique template of the band’s debut record, Temples Of Transcendent Evolution, to the next level, fully cementing AGELESS OBLIVION’s signature sound.

Dom Lawson of Metal Hammer described AGELESS OBLIVION as “The actual future of Metal”. A huge statement, but one that becomes totally justified upon listening to the sheer magnitude and ambition of Penthos.

Having already shared stages with extreme metal behemoths such as DECAPITATED, AEON, CEREBRAL BORE, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, DYSCARNATE, CONAN, BLOOD RED THRONE and LATITUDES, the band has an affinity for the stage, constantly expanding on their live performance with an objective to merge the atmospheric with the primal belligerence of traditional death metal. An endeavour that promises to bring something fresh to what is to this day still considered a formidable genre of music.

“Provides the missing link between crushing high-velocity brutality and suffocating NEUROSIS-style doomscapes. The breadth of vision here is exhilarating.” — TERRORIZER MAGAZINE
“Beats DECAPITATED at their own technical game.” — KERRANG! MAGAZINE
“This is it. This is what makes metal great!” — THRASH HITS
“Huge and expansive, as well as some riffs so heavy that they would cave your skull in if you sat too near the speakers.” — METAL TEAM UK
“You may not have heard of this band, but doubtless you will be doing so more in the future. With a fresh take on the death metal dynamic, this, their debut album, provides a master class in modern death metal.” — NO CLEAN SINGING
