2010 – British actor Martin Benson, passed away at the age of 91. He appeared in the film “The Strange world of Planet X” (known in America as “The Cosmic Monster), and the TV series “The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.” He was best known for playing American gangster “Mr. Solo” in the “Bond” film “Goldfinger.”

2008 – Masaki Harada, who directed for the TV show “Ultra Man Tiga.”

1993 – Toho director, Ishirô Honda, who directed the original “Godzilla,” “War of the Gargantuas,” “Rodan,” “Mothra” and “Ghidrah, the Three Headed Monster,” to name a few, passed away at the age of 81.

1973 – Cecil Kellaway, who appeared in the films “The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms,” “The Mummy’s Hand” and “Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte,” passed away at the age of 82.

1916 – Henry James, American author best known for his horror novella “The Turn of the Screw.”
