Randy Memoli enters Wes Craven’s 30 Second Film Contest

RandyMemsWait… Wes Craven has a film contest? Yeah, I wasn’t aware of this either until chatting with Randy Memoli the other day.

The real title of the contest is Wes Craven Presents’ Studio 360’s Scary Short Film Fest. The theme for the contest is “young genius,” and the iconic director will be handpicking the winner himself. Film makers are encouraged to submit a 30 second short film with that theme by 11:59PM ET on March 2, 2014 to be considered. I don’t know what the rest of the prize includes, but having your short film recognized by one of the greatest scary movie directors of all time is a prize good enough for me! With that in mind, New Jersey’s own Randy Memoli set out to have his work noticed by the director of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream. Randy Memoli has appeared in a number of horror titles including Only Go There At Night, Gitchy, Hate’s Haunted Slay Ride, and Sheriff Tom vs. The Zombies.

His final product for the 30 second film contest is a trippy short titled Chicken, a film in which he also stars. Chicken was directed by Randy Memoli with Jason Nappi as cinematographer and editor, and original scoring by Jimmy Onorato. Memoli and Nappi previously worked together on the short film Gloom.

Now for before your very eyes…I present…Chicken.
