Two words…werewolves and retirement community, bam! – I’m there! That’s the basic plot of Dark Sky Films upcoming horror flick entitled Late Phases.  The film will have it’s world premiere at Austin, Texas’ 2014 SXSW Film Festival at the midnight screening on Sunday, March 9th, 2014.  Read on for more details and some exclusive stills courtesy of The Wrap.

Late Phases is written by Eric Stolze (Under The Bed) and directed by Adrián García Bogliano (Here Comes The Devil, Cold Sweat).  It stars Nick Damici, Ethan Embry, Tina Louise, Lance Guest, Erin Cummings, Tom Noonan, Al Sapienza, Karen Lynn Gorney, and Larry Fessenden.

Plot Synopsis

Crescent Bay is not the ideal place to spend one’s golden years, especially since the once-idyllic retirement community has been beset by a series of deadly animal attacks from the ominous forest surrounding it. When grizzled war veteran Ambrose McKinley (Nick Damici) is forced into moving there by his yuppie son, Will (Ethan Embry), the residents immediately take offense to Ambrose’s abrasive personality. But that take-no-prisoners attitude may be just what Ambrose needs to survive as it becomes clear that the attacks are being caused by creatures that are neither animal nor man and that the tight-knit community of Crescent Bay is hiding something truly sinister in its midst…

According to The Wrap, star Nick Damici is headed back to Austin’s SXSW, perhaps the premiere town for genre filmmakers, to debut his latest project, “Late Phases,” a midnight movie that represents the beginning of a new era in his career.

The 54-year-old New Yorker hasn’t seen the finished movie  yet, but as he said during an interview at his apartment this week, he’s incredibly excited to see himself play a 70-year-old blind man who has to battle werewolves after they kill his seeing eye-dog during his first day at a haunted retirement community.
