Anathema Photography Crowd Funds to Finance First Short Film
By Christine Lyon

Vancouver, BC, Danielle K L Anathema of Anathema Photography and her team have launched a crowd funding campaign to finance her first short film, A Gift for Amelia. The film portrays a twisted encounter between a young woman with a hidden disfigurement, viewed as shameful by society, and a mysterious doctor who wishes to deliver her from her pain.

Going from photography to film is a natural progression for Danielle. She has established herself as one of the creepiest minds in photography with her extensive portfolio of dark and beautiful imagery. Her hard work and dedication to the craft as well as the horror genre has garnered her hundreds of thousands of fans around the world.

The film will be haunting and memorable, just like her art images.

She’s teamed up with a group of talented individuals to make this film a reality, including the award winning special effects makeup artist and contestant on SyFy’s hit reality series Face off, Sarah Elizabeth. Daniel Renton Brand, a talented videographer who has worked with such bands as Napalm Death, has signed on to shoot and edit the film.

Danielle and her team launched an Indiegogo campaign just over a week ago with a goal of $35,000, and the reception has been nothing short of amazing. While the scope of the film is fluid and will scale to the amount of money that is raised, most of the funds will be used for locations, set decoration and for Sarah Elizabeth’s amazing makeup design. The campaign finishes April 2, 2014. The film is set to shoot at the end of April.

Anathema Photography’s devoted fans are expecting a lot of Danielle, and she intends to not only impress, but blow their minds. More updates will be released as the campaign continues, such as casting and score.
