Everyone’s favorite destination for cult, horror, exploitation and underground DVDs and Streaming VOD, TLACult.com (www.tlacult.com), announced today the nominees for its annual TLA Cult Awards. Nominees include genre-themed films released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2013, as well as noted Cult, Horror and Exploitation-themed blogs and websites.

“Award season isn’t over until we say it’s over,” said Dan Reed, Managing Editor of TLACult.com. “And, by golly, we say it isn’t over yet. Not until the sublimely weird and epically racy cult, exploitation and grindhouse movies we promote on our site have been honored. And, if anyone did honor them yet, we missed it because we were too busy watching awesome, hard-to-find movies.”

Categories in the 2014 TLA Cult Awards include The TLACult Super Awesome Culty Award; Best Animation; Best Horror Movie; Sickest Flick; Best Arthouse or International Skin Flick; Best Grindhouse Flick, Best Multi-Feature DVD Release; and Best Website or Blog. Voting is open to the general public and votes can be submitted at https://TLACult.com/. Nominees were selected by TLA Cult’s staff of dedicated, sun-deprived movie nerds. Winners will be announced on or around April 15th, 2014.

Easter Casket from director Dustin Mills and Hidden in the Woods from director Patricio Valladares lead the nominees with three each. With nominated films including sexually explicit international films, two nominees featuring graphic on-camera pubic-shaving and a great mix of homemade genre films, these awards certainly distinguish themselves from virtually every other movie awards.

“We’re just thrilled to be able to continue to celebrate the wild and weird world of cult movies. There are so many great and totally strange movies that come out every year that the mainstream sites and awards totally miss out on. And every day it seems, a new website or blog pops up to cover these movies. Those hard working writers and fans need some recognition too. I hope everyone with a taste for bizarre and often racy films comes to vote in our awards. We certainly have a fantastic time hosting them.” added Reed.

TLA Entertainment offers the very best in home entertainment offering a vast catalog of movies for every type of consumer, from quirky Independent cinema to outstanding Cult & Horror movies to Gay & Lesbian films and the hottest in both Straight and Gay adult entertainment.
