Nick Frost To Direct Short Horror Film!

Nick Frost imageNick Frost, the lovable Brit who starred with Simon Pegg in the Cornetto trilogy of films, has announced today he intends on stepping into the director’s chair for the first time with a short horror film that he wrote. No more details about the film are known at this time other than Frost hopes to shoot the film in May or June. Read on for more details.

The Wrap is reporting, Nick Frost is making his first move behind the camera.

The 42-year-old English actor, best known for his work with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright in the Cornetto Trilogy of films (“Shaun of the Dead,” “Hot Fuzz,” and “The World’s End”) has directorial ambitions, which he will kick off with a short.

“I wrote a short film earlier this year, and I’m hoping we’re going to shoot it in May or June,” Frost, who stars in the upcoming romantic dance comedy “Cuban Fury” alongside Rashida Jones and Chris O’Dowd, told TheWrap in New York on Monday. “It’s a little short horror film.”

Frost wrote the short while taking a break from filming the comedy “Business or Pleasure,” in which he stars with Vince Vaughn and Dave Franco. He conceived of the idea behind “Cuban Fury,” on which he served as executive producer, his second such credit after last year’s “The World’s End.” His collaboration with Pegg and Wright has long led him to have a more hands-on approach to his films that most actors can afford.
