Horror Society pries itself on helping the indie scene. So many talented filmmakers, actors, producers, etc want to make films but lack the funding. That is why we post any and every crowdfunding campaign we can. That brings me to the upcoming film Haze Period from Keith Voigt Jr. who is the man behind the films ArME and Lust. Sadly, this is Horror Society’s first coverage of Voigt and his films but you can be damn sure it will not be the last.
Haze Period is as followed:
Haze Period centers around a shy young man named Phil and his group of drug using new friends. Here he meets the love of his life Jessica. They start taking a new and scarce drug called GNAR which gives them the best high of their life. But there’s a catch, there is a period of blackout memory loss as you’re on the drug. We follow these characters in their everyday meaningless hipster bullshit lives and people start to go missing. The film takes a very dark turn and people may not be how they seem.
The film will be really surreal and implement the same style that ArME had. I want to explore the late teens to middle twenties drug culture. Also exploring themes of our past dictating our future. Deep down it’s a fucked up love story reflecting what I have witnessed with drug use and a dark satire on the “YOLO” culture of today.
His recent films, ArMe/Lust, has been picked up by Toe Tag and is currently being sold as a double feature. I was recently able to land myself a version of both films and a review will be posted very, very soon. So check the Indiegogo campaign out for Haze Period.
